Eterno despertar de la mente inocente... De acuerdo, poca gente iría a ver una película con este nombre protagonizada por Jim Carrey. En Europa para lograr una mayor comercialidad, le cambiaron el título por Olvídate de mí (España) o Vergiss mich nicht (Alemania) (No me olvides) y la vendieron como la típica comedia del actor canadiense. Resultado, nadie fue a verla. Los fans de Jim Carrey la aborrecieron y la gente que lo odia, no fue a verla. Quizás, después de todo, no hubiera sido mala idea traducir por una vez el título original, porque además después de ver la película resulta ser un nombre de lo más acertado. La frase corresponde a un poema del Papa Alejandro, digo de Alexander Pope, muy largo para reproducir aquí, pero que se puede encontrar en esta dirección
Sobre la película quiero decir que es la que más me ha gustado probablemente en los últimos años. Quizás sea porque, en cierto sentido, me siento identificado con el personaje que interpreta Jim Carrey y su felicidad, su tontería, cuando encuentra el amor, pero aquí mostrado de un modo realista. La relación que mantiene con Clementine (Kate Winslet) se muestra de un modo realista en sus distintas fases. Pero no es sólo eso, es la estructura del film en si, una narración no lineal, totalmente justificada por la trama. Son los personajes, todos tienen vida y una personalidad marcada. Es su idea original, simplemente genial, un doctor ofrece la solución definitiva al sufrir por amor: borrar todo rastro de la persona amada de la mente del paciente. Es su final, nada complaciente. Y seguiría, pero prefiero que la veáis, no quiero desvelar nada más que lo que ya he dicho.
La película la dirige Michel Gondry(Human Nature) a partir de un guión de Charlie Kauffmann (Adaptation, Cómo ser John Malkovich, Human Nature) y está interpretada por Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, Elijah Wood, Mark Ruffalo y Tom Wilkinson.

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind... Few people would watch a movie named that way and starred by Jim Carrey. In Europe in order to make it a comercial success, its name was changed. So in Spain we had "Olvídate de mí" (Forget me) or in Germany "Vergiss mich nicht" (Don't Forget me) and the movie was shown as the typical Jim Carrey Movie. The Result, no one watched it. Jim Carrey's fans were bored by it and Jim Carrey's haters did not care about it. Maybe it would have been a better idea keeping the original name, because it suits the movie like a glove. The title comes from a poem by Pope Alexander,sorry, Alexander Pope, but it is too long to write it here so you can find it if you follow this link.
This movie is probably the best movie I've seen in recent years. Maybe that's because I identify myself with Jim Carrey's character in a certain way: his happiness, the way he finds love, its realistic feeling. His affair with Clementine(Kate Winslet) feels like real in its different phases. But that's not only the reason, it's its structure a fully justified non linear narrative. It's the characters, everyone is alive, everybody is a human being. It's the original idea, simply genius, a doctor knows how to stop suffering of love: to erase every single detail from the loved person from the patient's mind. It's its end, not a happy ending at all. I would go on, but I'd like you to watch it, I do not want to spoil the movie.
